The association was established in 1985 and holds annual meetings in order to meet
its aims of providing a forum for discussion and exchange of information and ideas on current issues on biblical
research in Africa. The aim also includes relating biblical interpretation to the life situation in Africa
and African societal problems. This is a contextual study of the Bible in Africa.
